About Us

Sharon Culbertson dreamed of opening a neighborhood kitchen store as a resource for cooks of all backgrounds. In November 2002, her dream became a reality and The Copper Colander opened its doors on North Broadway. In 2004, the store moved around the corner to Second Ave. North to gain more square footage. In a short amount of time, the store experienced great success and once again grew out of its square footage. In order to expand the business further, Sharon and her business partner and husband, Steve, made the move to the west end retail district in 2007. The new location can now accommodate cooking classes for all ages, events to promote culinary awareness in our community and excellent products The Copper Colander is known for – this has been a successful move!
