The Copper Colander hosts demonstration and hands-on cooking classes throughout the year. Watch, listen, and learn as our in-house chef, Cynthia Ware, teaches techniques and prepares recipes for you to sample. Classes range in size and each space is sold in advance on a first come, first serve basis. If classes are full, we will be happy to add you to our waiting list.

Beef, bison, and ribs and how to do them up best! Wine pairings by Simply Wine. The cost of this class is $60 per person.
Wednesday, June 25 · CUTTING EDGE KNIFE SKILLS BY MIKE CALLAHAN!
Former Walker’s Grill Chef and current In-House Chef for Food Services of America, Mike Callahan will teach knife skills used for everything in the kitchen! This class costs $35 per person.
Friday, June 27 · DIVINE DIVAS’ NIGHT OUT: Barefoot Contessa Parties by Ina Garten
This class is based on the Barefoot Contessa Parties by Ina Garten and will include ladies at the grill making an entire summertime menu from planning to shopping to preparing. Wine pairings by Simply Wine. The cost of this class is $75 and includes the book.

Summer is the best time to serve an ice cream cake! Learn to make orange chiffon cake and vanilla bean ice cream then how to layer into a frozen hot weather treat! The cost of the class is $25 per person.
Friday, July 11 · BASTILLE DAY PARTY
This celebratory dinner is full of summery French flavors and includes French wine tastings from Simply Wine. The menu includes Steamed Clams in Pernod and White Wine; Wild Mushroom Salad; Burgundian Grilled Steak; Roasted Asparagus Wrapped in Pancetta; Sloe Gin & Mango Granita with Chocolate Delices. The cost per person is $45.
Friday, July 18 · FAST & FRESH: WOK ON THE BBQ
When it is too hot to cook inside move outside with this menu that includes Beef with Grilled Tomatoes; Salt and Pepper Fish with Grilled Lemon Vegetables; Couscous Stuffed Grilled Peppers; and Moroccan Flatbreads. The cost of this class is $45 per person.
Friday, July 25 · DIVINE DIVAS’ NIGHT OUT: Hollyhocks & Radishes by Bonnie Stewart Mickelson
This cookbook is based on correspondence between Bonnie and a lady who ran a farm stand on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the menu includes Tiny Spinach & Bacon Sandwiches; Whitefish Salad, Plank Cooked Trout; Italian Style Swiss Chard; Baked Tomatoes in Cream; and Peach Upside Down Cake. The cost of this class is $75 and includes cookbook.

This menu was created by Chef Cynthia to focus on the fresh wonderfulness of local produce and the menu includes: Green Bean Salad with Tarragon & Fresh Flowers; Corn Chowder; Roasted Asparagus Salad with Fried Sage Leaves; Fresh Vegetable Soup with Herbs; Ginger Tomato Salad and Nan with Cumin & Onion. The cost of this class is $40 per person.
